Use of website

By viewing the UCAS Media website the user (“you”) is deemed to consent to all terms and conditions set out below. If you have any questions regarding the terms and conditions, you should contact the Company Secretary at UCAS Media Limited.

UCAS Media Limited reserves the right at all times to vary, change, alter, amend, add to or remove any of these terms and conditions. By browsing the Website you accept that you are bound by the current terms and conditions and notices. Please ensure that you review these terms and conditions each time you revisit the site as you will be deemed to have accepted a variation if you continue to use the Website after the variation has been posted.

The current draft of these terms and conditions was adopted and published on 5 December 2006.

Copyright exists in the Course Discover database and advice content which will be found on the CD-ROM and web site. Copyright also exists in the licensed software, which enables the CD-ROM to be accessed and read.

Neither the software materials, nor all or any part of the data contained on the CD-ROM or web site may be copied, added to, adapted, translated, decompiled or recompiled, reverse engineered or transferred (whether electronically or otherwise) onto any other computer system or medium, except as specifically provided for in this document.

UCAS MEDIA makes no representation, warranty or condition that all or any part of the information on the Course Discover compact disc, or the software materials which go with it, or the web site are up to date, complete or error free. UCAS MEDIA cannot be held liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage resulting from the reliance on information contained on the CD-ROM or web site, or use, misuse or malfunction of the Software Materials or the CD-ROM or web site itself.

UCAS MEDIA reserves the right at any time to change, modify, or update the software needed to gain access to and read Course Discover. UCAS MEDIA shall be entitled to require the return of this and all other CD-ROMs containing Course Discover and terminate access to the web site if you infringe the copyright or other rights of UCAS MEDIA, or in any way breach this agreement.

The information contained on the CD-ROM and we site may not be assigned, licensed, sold or transferred to any third party by any physical or electronic means. This agreement shall be governed in all respects in accordance with English Law.

You are hereby licensed to display and read the Course Discover information on the CD-ROM and website, subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Compact Disc – Standalone Licence

The Course Discover Compact Disc is protected by copyright and the information may not be displayed except on a standalone, single computer system using the Software Materials. As a subscriber to Course Discover you may print out, or copy to your computer disc, a single copy of course lists or course records so long as any such copy is for your own personal or internal corporate use only. The production of multiple copies, on any medium is strictly forbidden (with the exception of parties who have negotiated sub-license agreements). The sale or reproduction of information contained on this CD-ROM or the software materials that go with it is also forbidden.

2. Compact Disc – Network Licence – Single Site

The Course Discover Compact Disc is protected and may not be displayed except on a standalone, single screen computer system using the software materials or on a single site local area network (LAN). If you wish to use this CD-ROM and/or the Software Materials on any other computer system you must first obtain the written consent of UCAS MEDIA.

As a subscriber to Course Discover Compact Disc, you may print out, or copy to your computer disc, a single copy of course lists or course records so long as any such copy is for your own personal or internal corporate use only. The production of multiple copies on any medium is strictly forbidden (with the exception of parties who have negotiated a sub-licence agreement) as also is the use of this CD-ROM on a wide area network (WAN) without the express written consent of UCAS MEDIA. The sale or reproduction of information contained on this CD-ROM or the software materials that go with it is also forbidden.

3. Internet Licence

The Course Discover website and all information contained upon it is copyright UCAS MEDIA. The license is per site and thus cannot be linked to an intranet. Multi-site licences can be negotiated with UCAS MEDIA. As a Course Discover subscriber you may print out or copy to your computer disc a single copy of course lists or course records so long as any such copy is for your own personal or internal corporate use only. The sale or reproduction of any of the information contained on the Course Discover website is forbidden.

  1. You have 30 days from the date of invoice to cancel the subscription and receive a full refund. After this time it will not be possible to cancel a subscription. Upon cancellation all software and documentation must be returned to UCAS MEDIA, Course Discover, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL52 3LZ.
  2. No CD updates will be despatched if full invoice settlement has not been made within 30 days of date of invoice.
  3. Internet access will be terminated if full invoice settlement has not been made within 30 days of date of invoice.
  4. Subscription renewal is not automatic; to renew your subscription it will be necessary to return a completed renewal form. If renewal notification has not been received your access to the software and web site will be terminated.
  5. Authorisation details are for the sole use of students and staff at the subscribing site and should not be provided to any other person, site or organisation.
